Sailing the Insane way, Cub Scouts and Kiah Oct 19th 2002

I am the Den Leader for my local congregation's cub scout troup. One of their electives is Sailing, since a church member had a sail boat, I asked him if was willing to take the scouts sailing. In a moment of weakness he said yes and we headed out Saturday afternoon after soccer games to go sailing. It was a beautiful sunny day and the wind was pretty strong. We left the Richmond Brickyard Cove Marina around 1 pm and planned on getting back for game 1 of the World Series.

Steve Botts our mighty captain.

This is the inside of the marina heading out to the bay.

Jordan Phair spent most of his time at the bow of the boat, braving the wind and the waves.

The wind started to blow pretty good and the boat cranked over pretty good, that is Golden Gate park in the background.

Beautiful sailing day on the bay.

Here you can see the tilt of the boat in teh wind and a bunch of birds flying by.

Several times the boys appear to almost be sliding off the boat, good thing Steve's wife wasn't around.

The gang all lined up.
